Fifth Avenue Food Ministry

**Food requests have changed!**

We continue to collect food supplies for our ministry at the Fifth Avenue Apartments.  The Missions Team invites you to join in handing out supplies each Thursday, throughout March, at 4:00 p.m.  Items needed:

  • tortillas
  • soup
  • canned re-fried beans
  • canned vegetables
  • dried beans
  • dried rice
  • cereal
  • quick oats

Regular sized items please.  If you would like to participate at the apartments, please call Peggy Rollins (706-280-5365) or Becky Jolly (706-260-8686) for a location (it’s changed from last year). Thank you in advance for your help!

The children of the church will be collecting money after Sunday’s service to benefit the Dalton location of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. Thank you in advance for your generous donation!

MLK Jr. celebration in Dalton

Remember Dalton MLK events:

  • Sunday, January 14 at 4:00 p.m., there will be a service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church
  • Monday, January 15 at 9:00 a.m., there will be a wreath laying at the Memorial (which is near the Wendy’s at the intersection of MLK Boulevard and East Walnut Avenue)
  • Monday, January 15 at 10:00 a.m., there will be a prayer breakfast at Mack Gaston Community Center.

Mr. Rogers’ Sweater Drive

To honor both the tradition of a Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of service, and the legacy of Fred Rogers, the Presbyterian pastor who hosted the television show teaching children about  empathy and compassion by interaction with neighbors, Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, the Missions Team invites members to give new or gently used sweaters of any size from now until the end of January, for distribution to community neighbors.There will have a basket in the commons area for collection.
